Novel
The Pillars of the Earth – Ken Follett

Call of the Wild – Jack London
A book that was probably revolutionary when it came out. Felt old hat to me
Hatchet – Gary Paulsen
A book designed to teach kids how to read and enjoy novels.
Recursion – Blake Crouch
Did I just read the same novel again? Crouch gives me that impression
Oil! – Upton Sinclair
A classic novel that might not be read too much anymore, it has some pretty contemporary themes. Written from back when an American could also be a socialist
Slaughterhouse-Five – Kurt Vonnegut
Vonneut’s most famous novel, largely not about a person being un-stuck in time.
